Organizations, plans and billing
An organization is a shared workspace with its own limits. Forms created inside one belong to the organization rather than to you, which is how more than one person gets access to the same responses.
How do I create an organization?
An organization is created from the workspace menu at the top of your forms, which reads Personal until you have one. Choose New organization, give it a name of up to 60 characters, and it is created immediately. Organizations are a paid feature: Basic allows 3 and Advanced 5, while the free plan is a personal workspace only. You are switched into a new organization straight away, so the next form you create lands inside it.
The same menu switches between workspaces afterwards, and the gear beside it opens the organization’s settings, where you rename it, invite people, remove members and delete it.

How do seats and invites work?
Invite someone by email from the organization’s settings. The invite is claimed the first time they sign in with that verified email address — not one they type in, which is what stops an invite being redirected to somebody else. Invites expire after 14 days.
A pending invite occupies a seat, so an organization whose seats are all taken cannot invite anyone until one is freed — and the owner is always one of them. Revoking a pending invite frees it immediately.
Every member of an organization can see and edit its forms and read its responses. There is no per-form permission — the organization is the unit of sharing.
What does each plan include?
Limits apply per workspace. Your personal space has its own allowance and each organization has its own, so a Basic account with two organizations has 100 forms available in each of the three places rather than 100 in total.
| Free | Basic | Advanced | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Price | Free | $20/mo or $200/yr | $40/mo or $400/yr |
| Forms per workspace | 10 | 100 | 200 |
| Responses per form | 100 | 2000 | 5000 |
| Seats per organization | — | 2 | 3 |
| Organizations you can own | — | 3 | 5 |
| Password protection | — | Yes | Yes |
| Connected apps | — | Yes | Yes |
| Your own logo | — | Yes | Yes |
Everything else — webhooks, embedding, CSV export, wizard steps and one-question-per-page layout — is on every plan including the free one. Password protection, connected apps and replacing the Seagit mark with your own logo are what a paid plan unlocks; the rest of what you pay for is volume.
How do I upgrade, downgrade or switch billing period?
Open Plans and press the button on the plan you want. What happens next depends on whether you already pay:
- From Free. You are sent to Stripe to enter a card, then returned here with the plan already applied.
- Between paid plans. No payment page — your card is already on file, so the price is swapped and the difference charged immediately, prorated for the rest of the period.
- Monthly to annual, same plan. The same thing. Choose Annual first and the button on your current plan becomes Switch to annual billing.
Annual is ten payments for twelve months — Basic at $200 a year against $240 monthly, a 17% saving.
A declined card changes nothing
Where do I find my invoices?
Invoices are at Invoices, under your avatar. Each payment is listed with its invoice number — the reference an accountant will ask for, in the form ABCD1234-0001 — plus the date, the amount, its status, and a link to the PDF. A monthly plan produces one invoice per month; an upgrade mid-period produces an extra prorated one on the day you upgrade.
Invoices are issued and stored by Stripe rather than copied here, so they stay correct if a payment is later refunded and remain available after a subscription ends. The free plan is not billed, so nothing is issued until you subscribe.
What happens when I cancel?
Press Cancel subscription on the Free plan card. The subscription stops at the end of the period you have already paid for — not immediately — and until then nothing changes.
Afterwards you and every organization you own return to the free plan. Nothing is deleted. A workspace holding more than 10 forms keeps all of them; you are simply refused the next creation until you are under the limit again.
Common questions
- What is an organization?
- A shared workspace with its own limits. Forms you create outside one live in your personal space and only you can see them; forms created inside an organization are visible to every member. A form belongs to wherever it was created and cannot be moved afterwards.
- How many forms and responses do I get?
- Limits apply per workspace — your personal space has its own, and each organization has its own. Free gives 10 forms with 100 responses each. Basic gives 100 forms with 2000 responses each. Advanced gives 200 forms with 5000 responses each. Response limits are per form for the life of the form, not per month.
- What is a seat?
- A member of an organization. A pending invite holds a seat until it is accepted or revoked, so inviting someone uses one immediately. Basic allows 2 seats per organization and Advanced 3. The free plan has no organizations, so it has no seats.
- Can I create an organization on the free plan?
- No. Organizations are a paid feature: Basic allows 3 and Advanced 5. The free plan is a personal workspace, with its own 10 forms and 100 responses each. You can still be invited into someone else's organization on the free plan — only owning one is paid.
- Do my organizations get my plan?
- Yes. One subscription covers you and every organization you own, so upgrading raises their limits too. Organizations you have merely been invited to are unaffected — they follow whoever owns them.
- How do I switch between monthly and annual billing?
- Open Plans, choose Annual, and press the button on the plan you are already on — it will read "Switch to annual billing". Annual costs ten months for twelve, so Basic is $200 a year instead of $240, a saving of 17%.
- What happens to my forms if I cancel?
- Nothing is deleted. Your plan runs to the end of the period you paid for, then you and every organization you own return to the free plan. Forms and responses over the free limits stay exactly where they are — you are simply refused the next creation until you are back under the limit.
- Where are my invoices?
- Under your avatar, choose Invoices. Every payment is listed with its invoice number, date, amount and a PDF. Invoices are issued and stored by Stripe, so they remain available after a plan ends.
