What goes wrong with this form

Assuming "No" means the tenant is a bad fit
A previous landlord might answer "No" for reasons unrelated to tenant behaviour — a building closure or a property sale. Always ask for comments explaining why.
Not capturing when the tenancy was
A reference from years ago is much older than a recent one. Ask for tenancy dates so a prospective landlord can weigh how recent the reference is.
Letting the reference be vague about rent payment
A free-text field like "How was their rent?" gets "good" or "fine". A radio group forces a clear answer you can compare across references.
Questions about this form
Is a "No" answer to "would you rent again?" a red flag?
Not always. It might mean the tenant was reliable but the landlord prefers a different tenant profile, or there was a single incident. Ask the previous landlord to explain in the comments field — a "No" is signal, not proof of fault.
Can I verify these answers independently?

What if a previous landlord refuses to fill out the form?
