Asking for a bio instead of expertise and topics
A single bio field gets a rambling paragraph that covers too much. Ask TWO questions — what they are an expert in, and what they can discuss on your show — and keep the answers focused.
Not asking for proof they can do an interview
A link to a previous podcast appearance or a YouTube video of them talking tells you how they communicate. Experience matters; seeing them in action matters more.
Leaving scheduling or payment expectations unclear
The form collects the pitch only. Scheduling, episode length and payment all happen in your own follow-up conversation. Set expectations in your response email, not in the form.
